SPRING BREAK

I really need a break:

What with endless placing and sorting out orders
And shipments with all possible irregularities,
FarmFest 2009 and HKU Fair Trade event,
Farmers’ Market Fair Trade Sunday …

And the non-holiday Chinese New Year Holidays,
Packed with customers who came up,
To visit our home-office-shop,
For goodies found in this blog.

But this Spring Break will be a special break:

I’ll be heading down south.
And if God is willing,
Open arms may be waiting,
For my Fair Trade suppliers.

So a Fair Trade Break it will be:

I’ll be seeing my old high school teacher,
Who encouraged me to write and read and write.
A forty-year-old reunion dream comes true,
Thanks to Google’s 1,000,001 websites.

I have meanwhile turned grey-haired;
And dear teacher is now seventy-two.
Not quite a typical pensioner, though:
For two years a Fair Trade volunteer.
